The story doesn’t say much. Were these kids waiting at a bus stop? Were they playing & chased each other into the street? If they were playing chances are they are not going to pay attention.
Where were the parents? I delivered pizza when I was much younger and one day a woman pushed her child out in front of my car as I approached it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen a parent do I wasn’t speeding and was able to avoid hitting the little girl about 6 years old. Clearly a lady looking for a lawsuit. But really, when I was seven I was not allowed to play anywhere near the road nor was I allowed to cross w/o an adult. My mother always was watching me.
irreversable brain damage: how is that heartless? its straight fact, and they are right. we were all kids at one point, and we were all dumb too.
JoeyD you heartless fu<K!
They have been here only 7 years! They are just kids.
you can’t blame the driver. the kids can run out right in front of the car and the driver will not have the time to react. speed wasn’t and issue since the kids are not critical. LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE YOU CROSS KIDS!!! I’m sure they will from now on. ![]()
My children are very precious to me; both were born against all odds. I want them here for a long, long time.
Seems like the world needs more parents like divah2 and myself…
Especially in Woonsocket…

For the past couple of years I have taught my daughter to look both ways; in the beginning when she was still very young I said to her “OK, there are no cars coming, it’s OK to cross, or there’s a car coming we can’t cross yet.“ Over the years she has learned to look and to judge whether it is safe to cross. She knows if there’s a car coming, not to cross. She also has been taught, when getting out of the car, to wait by the side of the car while I shut the door and not to dart out into the parking lot until I can take her hand.
“At that age they really should know better.“ Yes I agree, but only if taught over and over will they “know better”...
Commonsense is taught, not inherited…

at that age they really should know better. but then again, i see teenagers every day who cross the street and don’t bother to look. they just crossed. the irritates me!!!!

I hope the kids are okay. But i hope the drive is okay as well. the way the article sounds is they did hit the car. So imagine the driver? I would be tramatized if that happened.
