MILFORD, Conn.  - Connecticut authorities say a car smashed through the front windows of a Milford nail salon and ended up halfway into the shop in an accident that injured eight people.

Police say a woman who was driving the Honda Civic apparently hit the accelerator instead of the brakes and the car plowed into Sun Nails on Bridgeport Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say three people were hospitalized in fair condition, while a fourth person was in stable condition. The other victims were treated for minor injuries.

The names of the driver and the victims were not released.

Witnesses say the most seriously injured victim was a salon employee who was sitting behind the front desk. They say she was pinned against a wall when the car hit the desk.

Why are so many people getting confused between the brake and accelerator?? I’m glad these people aren’t my doctor!
