Brown students launch new job service for students

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Three Brown University students have launched an online job search Web site to match Providence-area college students with prospective employers.

The site, Jobzle.com, is free for students and employers. Its creators hope to make money by running the job search sites hosted by Brown and other schools.

Students upload their resumes on the site, and it recommends jobs based on the work experience in a student’s profile.

Providence might not seem like a great place to launch a job search service since the city suffered from 15.9 percent unemployment in July.

But Jobzle’s creators say they’re specializing in short term work, like child care or yard work, that’s more immune to economic slowdowns.
