Bristol woman loses teaching certificiate

BRISTOL, R.I.—A Bristol teacher, who pleaded no contest to drunken driving charges, has lost her certificate to teach in Rhode Island.

Kathleen Borgia, a 2nd grade teacher at Colt Andrews School in Bristol, was arrested on her way to work in September and suspended with out pay before she was let go.

Rhode Island Education Commissioner Deborah Gist revoked Borgia’s teaching certification.

Borgia has had a history of alcohol related incidents.
