BOSTON - A Boston trolley operator accused of texting when he rear-ended another train has received three speeding tickets in a private vehicle since 2002.
The Boston Globe reports state Registry of Motor Vehicles records show 24-year-old Aiden Quinn received two speeding tickets in New Hampshire in April 2007, and one in Middleborough in December 2002.
The records show that the Attleboro resident was also involved in a 2008 motor vehicle accident in Boston but was not cited.
Quinn was operating a Green Line trolley Friday evening when he rear-ended another train at Government Center Station. The crash sent nearly 50 people to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries. Authorities have accused Quinn of typing a text message to his girlfriend when he hit the other trolley.
