PROVIDENCE—A boil water advisory has been lifted in Bristol County.

Rhode Island health officials say it’s now safe for residents of Bristol, Warren and Barrington to use water for drinking, cooking and bathing infants.

The advisory was put in place earlier this week after tests showed E. coli bacteria in the public water supply.

Still, health officials say residents should flush faucets that haven’t been used since Tuesday, replace water treatment filter cartridges and sanitize refrigerator water and ice makers.
