FALL RIVER, Mass.—An alligator is pulled from a pond in Fall River Sunday afternoon.

Police say animal control and state environmental officials were called out, after someone reportedly saw a gator roaming near Interstate 195 near the Rhode Island border.

Officers say a three or four-foot alligator was taken from Watuppa Pond around 5:15 p.m.

Fall River police don’t know for sure how the large reptile got there.

Ah, the ‘gator wasn’t ‘near’ Rte 195 at all.  It was near Rte. 24 and Rte. 81, in a swampy area.  THAT is on the Rhode Island border.

Watuppa Pond at Rte. 195 is nowhere near the Rhode Island border.  Is it that the alligator was pulled out of the Watuppa or another pond that is actually near the Rhode Island border?
