PROVIDENCE—Adult entertainment clubs in Providence have taken a pledge and agreed not to hire employees under the age of 18.

All 11 clubs in Providence received a letter from the city asking them to sign the pledge.

Each club signed and returned the letter. In return they got a letter of thanks for complying.

Last week, Mayor David Cicilline signed an executive order prohibiting licenses to adult entertainment clubs that hire minors or have them perform.

A state representative is working on a statewide ban.
