NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. – You may have a $10,000 winning lottery ticket.

The Rhode Island Lottery wants you to check your ticket, because there is an unclaimed $10,0000 PowerBall ticket from the drawing on May 7, 2008.

The ticket was purchased at Sam’s Food Stores at 948 Eddie Dowling Highway in North Smithfield.

Lottery tickets expire one year after the original drawing.

There are also unclaimed $10,000 tickets that will expire in June and July that were purchased in Johnston and Jamestown.

Money from unclaimed winning tickets is turned over to the state’s General Fund.
