$80,000 gas bill corrected

» 6 Comments | Post a Comment

A Lincoln couple who received a natural gas bill for $80,000 will have it corrected.

Their normal bill is a couple of hundred dollars.

NBC 10 spoke with a National Grid spokesman who said it was human error and that the system failed to catch the problem.

He said the company has sent someone to re-read the meter and that a new bill has been sent.

This is a perfect example of why you should not have direct payment.

Not from an average of $200/mo to $1300/mo. The new gauges are flawed per the service man.

Their rate went up along with the gas and oil prices, now the prices of gas and oil had come down why haven’t the rate?

Must be a Lincoln thing. We also got a $2,300 bill. Called NG, sent out service man, said trouble with the new meters, changed it out which we only had since Jan. 08, they read them via their cars now on a computer. Sent documentation in early April, but yet to hear about our credits/cash back from October through March 09. Watch your bills.

I guess it’s a good thing he dosent have direct pay where they take it right out of his checking account!!! He should get 1 free month of gas for his trouble.
