JAFFREY, N.H.—Three 13-year-olds from Rhode Island were injured while hiking Mount Monadnock with classmates and teachers.

Monadnock State Park manager Patrick Hummel says the two girls and boy from Curtis Corner Middle School in Wakefield fell at different points on White Cross Trail on Wednesday.

The Keene Sentinel reports Hummel said park staff, state conservation officers and volunteers carried both girls about 1 1/2 miles down the mountain because they suffered injuries to their legs or ankles. The boy walked down the mountain on his own and then told park staff that had injured his head in a fall.

All three students were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.
