NEWPORT, R.I. -- Top-seeded Mardy Fish lost his first match at the Hall of Fame tennis championships in Newport for the second straight year.

Fish fell to Rohan Bopanna in two sets on Wednesday.

The number one seed hasn't won the title in the tournament's 32-year history on the grass courts at the Hall of Fame.

Fish says it's extremely disappointing to lose at Newport again. He says he's never played well there.

Fish was ranked 41st in the world entering the week.

Fish, a Minnesota native and self-described "big Twins fan," threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park last night.
