Cyclist hospitalized after crash

SWANSEA, MASS. -- Swansea Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a car that happened early Sunday afternoon on James Reynolds Rd.

Police say the crash occured at about 1:30 p.m..  They say a motorcycle driven by Gregory Reynolds, 24, of Dighton, collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by James Viera, 75, of Tiverton.

Preliminary investigation shows the Viera was making a left turn toward the southbound travel lane of James Reynolds Rd. when his Impala was struck on the side by the oncoming motorcycle.

Reynolds suffered serious injures and was transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital. Viera was uninjured in the crash.
