5 hurt in balcony collapse

Five women were injured Saturday when a balcony collapsed on them at a condominium complex in Warwick, fire officials told NBC 10 News.

Officials said the five women appeared to have only minor injuries and that they were taken to area hospitals.

The women were on a second-floor balcony when a third-floor balcony fell on them.

The collapse happened at Greenbrier Condominiums at 351 New London Ave.

The city building inspector said it appeared the balconies were not installed properly. The complex was built in 1985.
