PROVIDENCE - State lawmakers will return for one more day to vote on bills.

Leaders in the General Assembly decided against meeting all-night Friday in what many had expected would be their final day. They will return to the Statehouse on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Senate Majority Leader Teresa Paiva-Weed says it's better to return in the morning to avoid making errors late at night. The morning session is expected to last about two hours.

Lawmakers up for re-election in the fall are trying to wade through a tidal wave of last-minute bills.

On Friday, the Senate passed a measure allowing judges to erase the criminal records of people who receive deferred sentences if they stay out of trouble for five years.
