Drug investigation nets 2 arrests

A year-long drug trafficking investigation leads to the arrest of two men and the seizure of two kilograms of cocaine.

Carlos Evangelista, 33, of Bristol, Mass. and Peter Ferland, 33, of Fall River, Mass. were arrested by Massachusetts State Police troopers Thursday around 4 p.m. in the Harbour Mall parking lot in Fall River.

Both men are charged with trafficking more than 200 grams of cocaine and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

The men are being held without bail until arraignment Monday in Fall River District Court.
