PROVIDENCE -- A truck hauling tree trunks hit two overpasses on Interstate 95 South on Friday afternoon.

Police said a boom used in tree-removal work, which was tucked on top of the pile, hit the Eddy Street overpass.

Officials from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation said the driver pulled over and hit the Broad Street overpass.

Police temporarily shut down one lane of the Broad Street overpass while DOT inspectors checked on the integrity of the bridge.

The road was later re-opened.

The owner of Kaiser Tree Preservation Co. told NBC 10 that the driver suffered minor injuries.
