WARWICK, R.I. -- A man accused of carjacking a woman in Warwick, driving her to Providence and raping her is being jailed until a court hearing next week.

Saul Pizzaro-Aviles was arrested Thursday in Providence. The 27-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Providence District Court.

Investigators accuse Pizzaro-Aviles of using a knife to force his way into the driver's seat of an idling vehicle in Warwick.

The victim was sitting in the passenger's seat, while her mother was shopping inside a store at the time.

Police said the man drove the vehicle to Roger Williams Park and assaulted the victim there.
