PROVIDENCE—Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have dropped 4 cents per gallon, continuing a three-week trend.

A survey Monday by AAA Southern New England showed the cost of a gallon of regular, unleaded was averaging $2.63 at self-serve stations. That represents a drop of four cents since last week. A seperate survey by the state found gasoline was a bit more expensive at $2.64 per gallon.

Nationally, a gallon of gas is averaging $2.52.

Gasoline prices have dropped in Rhode Island by more than half since last year.

Oil prices are once again less than half what they were at their highest.  Gas prices, however, are not following—the oil companies are pushing prices higher for their own profits.  If all things were equal, Gas prices should be around $1.90 a gallon, but they’re still around 2.60.  After the record profits big oil made in the last few years, they should be lower.

It seems it doesn’t make any difference what scumbag is in power in Washington, they’ll still let big business run wild.  When is this country going to straighten out???
