Coffeemakers recalled for fire hazard

About 500,000 coffeemakers that were sold exclusively at Walgreens stores are being recalled.
Officials said Signature Gourmet 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemakers and Kitchen Gourmet 10-Cup Coffeemakers, made in China and distributed by Atico International USA Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., can ignite because of an electrical failure. The company has received 23 reports of the coffee makers igniting, which led to property damage. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled Signature Gourmet coffee makers are black with a model number of XQ-673BT or CM4193D. The item number is W14A5084. They were sold at Walgreens stores nationwide from June 2004 through March 2009.
The recalled Kitchen Gourmet coffee makers are white with a model number of XQ-673K and an item number of W14A3714. They were also sold at Walgreens stores nationwide from August 2006 through December 2008.
