CARVER, Mass. -  Hear ye, Hear ye, the king has returned.

King Richard, that is.

The annual King Richard’s Faire kicked off last weekend in Carver, and drew more than 10,000 visitors over the course of the three-day weekend.

The Renaissance festival had a 10 percent jump on tickets compared to last year, and officials are predicting that the 2009 season will be one of the best ever for attendance.

The Faire is in its 28th season and features interactive entertainment for the entire family.

It has knights, maidens, exotic animals and a lot of food items, including some of the largest turkey legs you have ever seen.

The Faire runs until Oct. 25 on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
