July 29 -- The United Way kicked off its new initiative with the help of volunteer torch bearers.The United Way of Rhode Island has joined a national push to increase community participation in its work. That's the message behind the United Way of Rhode Island's new initiative.
Clad in Live United t-shirts, scores of volunteers geared up to be torch bearers for the new campaign kicked-off at the only Waterfire lighting in July.
