The Town does not offer curbside trash collection, though that service is available for a fee from private haulers.
Recycling is mandatory.
If you choose to contract with a private hauler contact your collector for information about the fee they charge to collect recycling.

Transfer Station:
North Main Road

Available to residents with the purchase of with a sticker provided upon proof of residency at the Transfer Station.
Open: Thursday through Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Metal items accepted in a designated container at no charge to residents. In accordance with State law, there is a charge for
refrigerator disposal to cover the cost of refrigerant removal and doors must be removed.
Motor oil is accepted at the Igloo located at the Transfer Station. Yard waste is accepted at the Transfer Station.
Woody debris must be cut into lengths not exceeding three feet and bundled for ease of handling. Bagged leaves must be dumped out of the bags into the designated pile.

Recycling:
The Town provides you with both a blue and a lidded green recycling bin. Write your address in the white strip on the bin to prevent loss or theft!
Use your bins to collect recyclable materials listed in this section. Replacement bins are available at the Transfer Station for $2.00 each.

Acceptable Items:
Glass Food and Drink Containers:
Rinse containers; remove and discard lids and caps (NO pottery, dishes, Pyrex, window or broken glass).
Aluminum: Rinse cans, foil and pie plates. - Blue bin
Tin Cans: Rinse. Labels are okay. - Blue bin Plastic Milk Jugs: Rinse jugs; remove and discard caps. (NO bleach or detergent bottles,
yogurt-type containers or other plastics.) - Blue bin
Newspapers: Bundle newspapers with string or place in brown paper bags. Colored newspaper and colored inserts are okay, but no magazines or other paper.
Green bin ; Office paper: Envelopes (windows OK) and paper. Green bin: NO PLASTIC BAGS!
