Before the 1980’s, if you wanted to watch local news on WJAR-TV weekdays, you had three choices—noon, 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

That changed in 1980, when TV station executives saw the need for more local news, and started experimenting with new time slots.

Our celebration continues of the 60th anniversary of NBC 10 with a look at some of the time slots that worked, and the ones that didn’t.
