» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

A local man is on a crusade to bring attention to a rare cancer that took his wife’s life.

The cancer is known as cholangiocarcinoma, or cancer of the bile duct. The major function of the bile duct is to transport bile to the small intestine, where it aids in digesting food.

About 5,600 cases of cholangiocarcinoma are reported a year. It’s usually not caught early, making it an especially deadly cancer.

NBC 10’s Barbara Morse Silva reports how he wants to raise awareness and money to fund research.
