We have support groups for men with prostate cancer. Our group meets monthly at Rhode Island Hosptal to support each other and exchange information about treatment.. .and beyond.

Our most popular program is Look Good, Feel Better. It's a free program that teaches women in active treatment ways to manage their appearance in relation to side-effects of treatment.

They are volunteers who are breast cancer survivors themselves that will meet in person or over the phone with newly diagnosed patients. We have people who speak Spanish available in this program too.

The Tomorrow Fund, the ACS sponsors camps in Rhode Island for children who have been touched by cancer. The Tomorrow Fund is doing wonderful work, and we like to complement what they're doing.

It is great to have support. It really helps. I have a now 17 year old son recovering from brain cancer. He is doing well and all the local organizations have helped in so many ways.

Another important program is our Transportation for Treatment for cancer patients. We have specially trained volunteers who provide free rides for cancer patients to and from treatments and medical appointments that are cancer-related.

ACS has the Hope Lodge program throughout the country that offers free overnight housing for out-of-town cancer patients while they are being treated for cancer. We have a lodge opening up in November in Boston.

We do have free wigs, prothesis, bras, headware and drainage bags available for women who lose their hair.

We have our We Can weekend retreats that take palce twice a year. It's for patients and their families to learn about cancer facts and myths while making new friends and strengthening family ties.
