Landmark to end heart surgery program

Landmark Medical Center will shut down its open-heart surgery program on June 1.

The hospital developed its surgery program three years ago in conjunction with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, but the program never attracted enough patients to be financially viable.

Landmark will continue to offer angioplasty to its patients.
