Constellation installing solar at Patriot Place

BALTIMORE—Constellation Energy says it will install 2,800 solar power panels at the Patriot Place mall, some of which will be visible to fans watching the New England Patriots at nearby Gillette Stadium.

Constellation says the installation will provide almost a third of the power needs of the entertainment, retail and dining complex. Installation of the panels on seven rooftops in the complex is expected to begin in late October.

The Baltimore-based company says that under a 20-year power purchase agreement, Constellation Energy’s Projects & Services Group will own the system and sell the electricity it generates to Patriot Place.
