Budget Beef Noodle Casserole

(Serves 4)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked noodles
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup crushed crackers
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  1. In a skillet, brown the beef until cooked.
  2. Add the pepper and onion; cook for 2 minutes more.
  3. Add the salt and pepper; mix well.
  4. Add the egg, tomato sauce, noodles, and Worcestershire sauce; blend well.
  5. Place in a lightly oiled baking dish. Sprinkle with the crushed crackers and cheese.
  6. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
