CRANSTON, R.I.—Someone could be $250 million richer after Wednesday night’s PowerBall drawing.

The Rhode Island Lottery said strong sales have pushed the estimated jackpot to a quarter billion dollars, making it the 10th largest PowerBall jackpot ever.

There have been 15 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner since the current run started on July 1.

If the jackpot gets hit and the winner chooses the annuity option, the $250 million would be paid over 29 years in 30 installments. If the winner chooses the cash option, the lump sum payment is estimated at $124.8 million.
