Charlie Hall brings a wild comedy show to Woonsocket Stadium on Oct. 24th
With the Election Day right around the corner, funnyman Charlie Hall is bringing a healthy dose of what-he-does-best to the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket on Friday Oct. 24 at 7:30. Although Hall has performed at the Stadium numerous times with the Ocean State Follies and the RI Comedy Festival, he has promised this show to be unlike anything he’s produced in the past.
NBC 10’s Gene Valicenti will host camPAIN ’08- A Unique Evening of Political Humor, which will feature a cast of hundreds- almost.
Hall has decided to open the showcase to a diverse array of talents to lambaste the current crop of campaigners. Laughs will be provided by impressionists John Roarke and Ron Hayden, comics Frank O’Donnell and Dave Kane, hip hop duo Shoeless Jeff and Scott Free, and ladies acapella group Six in the City.
Also invited are a few “actual” politicians to join in the fun with their own routines such as Woonsocket Council Prez Leo Fontaine, Providence Mayor David Cicilline, and Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts who will be serenaded by 12 year old Evan Kinnane with a song Hall wrote just for him. The Follies will present a town hall parody with audience members asking questions of John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Sarah Palin. Oprah is slated to appear as well.
Proceeds for the event will go towards the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, and will be matched by Alan Shawn Feinstein. This means that $10 of every ticket, priced at $15 & $20, will go towards the creation of a park and monument at the site of the fire in West Warwick.
