Today’s Flashback represents an important chapter in Rhode Island organized labor history. It was 27 years ago today, Nov. 25, 1981, that two labor unions within the old Brown and Sharpe Company sent a defiant “no” message to management in what they thought was a routine strike—a strike that turned out to be anything but routine.
