Revenue slide continues at Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun

MASHANTUCKET, Conn.—Connecticut’s two casinos are reporting a drop in slot machine revenue last month compared with last year at this time.

Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods said September revenue was $54.9 million, a 2.8 percent decrease compared with September 2008. Mohegan Sun reported that it brought in $59.4 million in September, down 11.3 percent from a year ago.

The state’s share of the revenue for the month was $14.3 million from Foxwoods and $14.9 million from Mohegan Sun.

Mohegan Sun has generated more slot wins than Foxwoods every month since May 2005, a string of 52 straight months.

In August of this year, Mohegan Sun took in nearly $69 million while Foxwoods reported a slot win of $63.1 million.
