PROVIDENCE—A federal judge has ordered the bankrupt Twin River slot parlor and race track to provide financial information to a greyhound racing association.
UTGR Inc., the corporate owner of Twin River, wants to end its contract with the Rhode Island Greyhound Owners Association. It filed for bankruptcy in June and wants to sign a new contract with greyhound kennel owners willing to race their dogs for less money.
But the greyhound owners say they need financial information from Twin River to defend their contract. U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Arthur Votolato directed the track owners Tuesday to provide the information.
Track owners blame their existing contract, which requires a minimum of 125 days of live racing, for causing more than $10 million in annual losses.
