Citizens Names New CEO

A new chief executive officer was named Monday at Citizens Financial Group.

Ellen Alemany will take over the role, in addition to remaining as CEO of RBS Americas.

The bank said Alemany appointed commercial banker James G. Connolly as president of Citizens Financial Group.

Alemany replaces Stephen Steinour, who will leave the company by March 11. Steinour had been with Citizens since 1992.

Citizens Financial Group is the Providence-based parent of Citizens Bank.
