Mark Van Eeghen played high school football for Cranston West and graduated in 1970.

He attended Colgate University, where he set the single-season rushing record in 1973.

Van Eeghen played 10 years in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots. He played in a couple of Super Bowls and won a championship in Super Bowl XI.
