Tennis ball mascot ID’d

NEWPORT, R.I.—Just who is the tennis ball mascot bouncing around the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships?

His name is J.B. Keefe, of Newport.

“My sister said that we didn’t have anybody to be the big giant tennis ball this year and I said, ‘Sign me up!‘“ he said.

Keefe said he’s having a blast. His little brother told him that it’s his claim to shame, but he thinks otherwise.

“Everybody’s smiling and waving. All you can do is keep a happy face which is what I love to do,“ he said.
