DENNIS, Mass.—An 83-year-old woman who police said was struck as her 92-year-old husband backed their car out of a parking space at a Cape Cod yacht club has died.
A spokeswoman for Cape Cod Hospital told WXTK-FM that Muriel Weldon of Reading was pronounced dead approximately an hour after she was struck just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
Police said John Weldon was backing his car out of a parking spot at the West Dennis Yacht Club when it suddenly accelerated and struck his wife. Investigators said Muriel Weldon was standing behind the car and giving directions.
Massachusetts is considering testing older drivers more often after a series of accidents in recent weeks involving elderly motorists.

This is happening way to often. The nanny state controls ever more of our lives everyday in the name of preventing us from being harmed. However, they can’t seem to get a geezer law in place to remove these unsafe drivers.
young drivers are dangerous, but feeble and frail geezers are not?
OMG…that poor man! He must be so devistated!!!
