PLYMOUTH, Mass.—A 73-year-old woman accused of driving into a crowd of people gathering for a ceremony at a Vietnam War memorial in Plymouth has been cited by police.

Anna Marie Little, of Middleborough, will be summoned to a hearing before a clerk magistrate on a misdemeanor charge of negligent operation. The magistrate will decide whether to allow the citation to stand.

Police said Little had just dropped off her veteran husband for Wednesday’s ceremony at the Moving Wall when their minivan jumped a curb and drove slowly into a seating area.

Eight people, including Little, were treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

A witness stopped the vehicle by reaching through the window and shifting into park.
