KILLINGLY, Conn.—Connecticut State Police said 81-year-old Killingly woman was shot to death in her home.

The body of Jacqueline Kelley was found in her Cranberry Bog Road home Monday when police were called there on a report of a diabetic emergency.

Troopers found the woman’s husband, 81-year-old Thomas Kelley, suffering from a medical condition. He was taken to the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and is reported in serious condition.

State police searched the apartment and found the body of the woman. An autopsy Tuesday determined she died from a gunshot wound.

State police said nobody else was involved in the killing.
