Monster truck greets students at school

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I.—Six-year-old Justin Bossian of Saunderstown is mad about monster trucks.

He goes to all the events, wears the T-shirts and knows all the drivers.

So when his father suggested he enter a 100-word essay as part of a monster truck contest put on by the Cat Country radio station, Justin was in.

The prize? A monster truck shows up at school.

On Thursday, a monster truck pulled into the Monsignor Matthew Clarke School in Wakefield. Justin’s classmates, family and teachers were all there to celebrate.

Justin said it was better then Christmas and his birthday.

He said he wants to be a monster truck driver when he’s older and has already come up with a name for it—The Donut Crusher.

NBC 10’s Dan Jaehnig reports.
