Correctional officer accused of delivering drugs

A Bristol County correctional officer was arrested for allegedly delivering drugs inside the prison.
Marco Moniz, of Fall River, was arrested Tuesday by the Bristol County Sheriff’s office and charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and delivering contraband to a penal institution.
The district attorney’s office said the arrest was a collaborative effort between Fall River, Fairhaven and New Bedford police departments.
Moniz is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
