Bill to sell marijuana in stores advances

PROVIDENCE—The state Senate has approved a measure allowing some stores to sell medical marijuana.
They’re called “compassion centers.“ The state permitted medical patients to have marijuana for pain relief in 2006. But it never legalized the sale of the drug.
This bill would allow three non-profit, licensed stores to sell marijuana, but only to 680 patients registered with the state health department.
The measure is now headed to the governor’s desk. He has vetoed similar bills in the past.

Julie, I am sorry to hear about your loved one. Seriously I would consider getting a new doctor if one told him that his cancer was caused by pot. Only anectdotal evidence points to that possibility. the sick thing is they lock people up for smoking weed, wich in turn creates a worse person its time to end marijuana prohibition today. Maybe they give it a legal smoking age like drinking lol…
everythings good in moderation ignorance about the drug spreads fear about its reactions. It makes me twisted when i drink w/it lol!
LOL J9 the funny thing is I can’t smoke. I get parinoid don’t like that feeling. My brother talked me into it about 7 years ago went to leave the house instead of opening the back door I opened the fridge door to walk out. I never lived that one down. Getting old now 1 drink at my puter at night and I’m in bed by 8. I need to get a life lmao

I agree….It is not an addicting drug. I would also rather get in a car with someone who smoked rather than with a drunk. I think more people SHOULD start smoking….so they can kill the bug that is up their A$$! Pot is a peaceful, happy drug that should be legalized. !PEACE! 
LOL thank you Mike. It is true thou. My brother was a major pot head. He was never a big drinker. His personality was not always easiest to get along with moody, never liked to be in a crowd differnt things like that. He would smoke from the time he woke up and sorry to say I liked him better when he did. He’d be a happy camper. If you didn’t know him you would not know he had smoked. To get a job he had to quit & stay off pot I was amazed never thought he could do it. But he did. As for me with my smoking (cigs) hasn’t happened yet. I know he never turned to any other drugs that just a big myth.

I’m sorry Julie for your loved one. I just don’t feel it was pot that did that. I have know many people who smoke from the time they get up till the time they go to bed. They have done this for years. One had to give it up for a job and he was able to do it without any problem. I am a smoker and it’s going to be a lot more trouble for me. I do not believe pot leads to harsher thing. Pot “heads” love their pot that’s it. I have to agree with hazard a person who is drunk is far more dangerous than a person who’s high on pot. For the most part they get mello.
please don’t lump me in with people who think it is a heavy drug. of course i agree with you. it isn’t. alcohol is much much worse.
