PROVIDENCE—Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have decreased for the second straight week, the first time this year that prices have declined in consecutive weeks.

A survey taken Monday by AAA Southern New England showed a gallon of self-serve, regular was averaging $2.67. That’s two cents less than last week and a three-cent drop over the past two weeks.

But gasoline prices are still six cents above the national average. Prices a year ago averaged $4.10, the highest price ever recorded by AAA in Rhode Island.

Crude oil prices that were around $72 a barrel last week have dropped to $64 a barrel as of this morning (Monday).
Now, if the prices of gasoline were already dropping, lets see if the oil companies are going to drop them further.  I’ll bet not, since they’re out to suck our wallets dry no matter what is happening on the international oil market.
