Somerset woman gets regional McDonald’s award

SWANSEA, Mass.—A Somerset woman was named the 2008 New England McDonald’s Crew Person of the Year on Friday.

Bernice King was chosen out of 26,000 McDonald’s employees in the region.

Managers at the restaurant where she works in Swansea said King is so popular with customers that new moms bringing babies home from the hospital have actually stopped at the drive through to introduce their newborns to her.
