If you follow Rhode Island politics, you probably remember the phrase Cranston cronies? It referred to former Rhode Island Gov. Edward Diprete’s inclination to give government jobs to people from his native Cranston.
On Flashback, we see in this story from 24 years ago today, October 8, 1984, that inclination was alleged even before Diprete was in the state house—it began when he was still mayor of Cranston.
