Baby jaguar makes her debut

Here’s today’s NBC 10 “Video Pick” —It comes from our NBC station in West Palm Beach, Florida with a healthy dose of “cute.“

A baby jaguar made her public debut at the Palm Beach Zoo.  She was born at the end of October and the zoo asked people to vote online, to choose her name.  A full 50 percent of the voters chose the name “Maya.“ 

Seeing all the spectators peeking at her seems to have made the 9-week-old cub a little shy.  During Maya’s first venture into the public exhibit, she stayed close to the door of the jaguar family’s enclosed night-time shelter.
