MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - A new exhibit at Foxwoods Resort Casino gives a glimpse into the RMS Titanic and her passengers primarily through 125 artifacts recovered from the sea floor.
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition opens this week and takes visitors on a chronological voyage from shipbuilding through modern recovery efforts.
The display is set in a number of galleries featuring staterooms, artifacts and personal belongings.
Visitors are shown first-class staterooms costing $2,500 a ticket and in contrast shown the dormitory like $40 a ticket accommodations too.
For $40 sailors slept on bunk beds and could have shared the room with strangers.
The final gallery is about the people and the stories told by the artifacts left behind.
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit opens on Saturday, Feb. 13 and runs through June 13. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Tickets, which can be purchased online at > www.titanictix. com, are $20 for adults and teens, $18 for dream card holders, $16 for seniors, and $15 for children between 3 and 12.
The traveling exhibit is owned by Premier Exhibitions of Atlanta.
