AG: Bridal salon files for receivership

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A West Warwick bridal salon, which abruptly closed leaving dozens of brides-to-be scrambling to find a wedding day substitute, filed for receivership on Friday.

According to the Rhode Island attorney general's office, Cinderella's Bridal Salon filed the petition seeking protection from creditors in Washington County Superior Court.

The attorney general's office said it has received about 50 consumer complaints and that it has been in contact with the salon's court appointed receiver.

Earlier this week, a telephone recording said the phone number for Cinderella's was disconnected.

Corporate records show Judith Gray owns Cinderella's. NBC 10 was able to contact her and she said her lawyer told her not to talk about what happened, and hung up the phone.

Anyone who did business with the salon and has concerns is urged to call the attorney general's Consumer Protection Unit.
