Talbots Inc. has agreed to show its financial records to a private equity firm that made a buyout offer for the women's clothing company in December.
Talbots rejected an offer by Sycamore Partners, but the firm indicated it might raise its bid if it could look at the company's financial records.
Talbots is based in Hingham, Mass. and has stores in Barrington, Cranston, Newport and Providence and at the Wrentham Premium Outlets.
